The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) declared the results for the entrance examination for various courses on Monday on their official website.
The qualifying candidates have to appear for an interview, which is set to be held on March 20 for certain course lists.
The final merit list of the candidates will be released by April 15. The list of candidates applying for courses which don’t require viva-voce will be released by March 25.
A confusion arose among the candidates on February 21, 2018 when the official website gave a link of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE) result 2018, which, however, did not carry any information. Upon confirmation, the authorities cleared that the result of candidates who will be eligible for interview/viva-voce for research courses will be declared first.
The JNUEE was held at 81 centres in the whole country. The Admission branch of the university had deployed more than 200 teaching and non-teaching staff at all the centres for fair and smooth conduct of the examination, while a flying squad was also deployed at the certain centres to check and ensure fairness of the examination.
More than 1 lakh candidates had appeared for the examination in 131 fields of study, which made a significant rise in the number of candidates who applied for the exam, in comparison to the previous year.
The university offers around 720 seats for MPhil/ Ph.D., 459 seats for BA courses, and 1,118 for MA, MSc, MTech, and MPH.
