Month-long wait has come to an end as Mumbai University on Tuesday finally declared the results of all the examinations, which took place in April-May this year. The varsity was suppposed to announce the results in the month of June or July but there were inordinate delays due to chaos and arguments over assessment in the online mode.
Earlier, Mumbai University had declared 467 out of 479 results. The results of the eight important examinations of Commerce faculty were pending only. However, all the remaining reasults have been announced on Tuesday evening by the administration.
Due to the online evaluation system, the results of the MU got delayed by almost two months. The post-graduation admission process was also postponed for a long time, as the results were not out in time.
A written petition was also filed in the Bombay High Court against the varsity. The MU also gave several dead lines to the HC about declaration of results and kept them revising.
The varsity had assured the HC that all the results will be announced by September 19 and finally declared the results for the remaining eight examinations.
Although the results were announced, the MU is facing the challenge of re-evaluation. The re-evaluation of answer sheets has been started from Monday.
There are 33,000 applicants for re-evaluation while 6,000 students have applied for shadow copy. So it is not yet clear what time it will take for re-evaluation procedure to complete.
During the online evaluation, more than 2,600 answer papers were merged with the answer sheets of other subjects. Out of which 900 answer sheets were found, the search of remaining 1,700 answer papers is currently underway in the varsity.
