Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the result for first paper to recruit Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) on Monday.

The exam was held from September 16 to September 31, 2017. The answer keys for the same were released in November. The exam dates were rescheduled as SSC cancelled the OMR sheet based examination conducted for the recruitment of MTS (Non-Technical).

Candidates can check their SSC MTS results on the official website of the Commission.

The next step after the results is the candidates who cleared their paper 1 will have to appear for a descriptive paper 2. This will comprise of Short Letter/Essay in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution of India.

The paper will be set for 50 marks and the candidates will be allowed a total time of 30 minutes to attempt the same. “Paper-II will only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills in view of re-categorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements,” said the online site.

The Commission’s site gave a brief caution to the candidates beforehand. It said, “cut-offs in Paper-I and qualifying marks in Paper-II may be different for vacancies in each State/ UT will be fixed at the discretion of the Commission. Candidates for each State/ UT will be finally selected based on their performance in Paper-I, subject to their meeting basic qualifying standards fixed in Paper-II.”

SSC had to cancel the conduction of paper 1 on April 30, 2017 when question papers of the same were found uploaded on social networking platform Facebook. An FIR was registered in and seven people were arrested in regard with this incident from Uttar Pradesh, the police said.

The Commission has released the revised result for SSC CGL Tier 1 exam that was conducted last year, after repeatedly postponing the Tier 2 exam. With a lower cut off for marks, a total of 39,434 more candidates have made it to the Tier 2 examination list.
