The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) declared the UP Board Class 10 (High School) and UP Board Class 12 (Intermediate) results today on its official website. Last year, the UP board declared the results of Class 10 and 12 examinations on April 29, 2018. This year, the declaration of the UP Board results sealed the fate of more than 58 lakh students.
Kanpur's Gautam Raghuvanshi, a student of Onkareshwar Saraswati Vidya Niketan Inter College, topped the class 10 High School with 97.17 percent marks. He secured 583 marks out of 600. During an interview, Gautam revealed that he used to study for 8-10 hours daily. He also dreams of studying in the prestigious IIT college. Gautam's father Dheeraj Kumar works as a clerk for Kanpur Development Authority, while his mother Nirmala is a housewife. He has two elder sisters - one is a teacher, while other is preparing for NEET.
Shivam from Sri Sai Inter College Lakhperabagh in Barabanki and Tauja Vishwakarma from Maharani Laxmi Bai Memorial Inter College, Barabanki stood second and third with 97 and 96.83 percent, respectively.More than 32 lakh students had appeared for the class 10 board examinations in UP this year. Of them, 80.07 percent of students cleared the examination. While with passing percent of 83.98 percent, the girls outnumbered the boys whose passing percent was just 76.66 percent.
