Kendriya Vidyalayas gave the best results among different categories of schools affiliated to the CBSE with a pass percentage of 98.54 per cent in the class 12 examination.Â
A total of 948 KVs spread across the country and of the 64,519 students who appeared for the class 12 examination, a total of 63,277 students have cleared the exam.
 "KVs and Navodaya Vidyalayas getting the best pass percentages is reflective of the quality of education available at our government schools," Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said. Navodaya Vidyalayas have achieved a pass percentage of 96.62 per cent.Â

The CBSE announced class 12 results on Thursday taking everyone by surprise as there was no prior information about the date on which the results would be declared.
The Central Board of Secondary Education announced the results within 28 days, around three weeks before the usual schedule, as the exams had begun on February 15 had concluded on April 3.
Girls have a pass percentage of 88.70 which is 9 percentage points more than that of boys’ 79.40 per cent. Transgenders have a pass percentage of 83.3 per cent.
CBSE Class 10 results are expected on May 05.
