CBSE received the Digital India Award 2019 under 'Exemplary Online Service' category by the Union Minister for Law and Justice, Electronics and IT, Ravi Shankar. The award was received by CBSE IT team on behalf of the Chairperson, Central Board of Secondary Education, Anita Karwal. To lessen the pressure of board exam, CBSE has been extensively promoting mental health issues on its Twitter handle lately with #CBSECounselling2019.

The CBSE has taken several digital initiatives such as digi-locker, centre locator app, geo-tagged time. While addressing the event, Prasad said that an Asian head of a big technology company told him that the job dynamics in India are changing as IIT toppers are taking up start-up projects with a vision to become job givers and not job seekers.

The Digital India Awards aim at encouraging government entities, which have made significant contributions towards the implementation of e-Governance and shown an exemplary and innovative approach to achieve administrative efficiency and transparency.

Who can apply for the Digital Awards?

Central government ministries/ departments/ offices/ institutions, state government departments/ offices/ institutions, district administrations and Indian missions abroad are eligible to apply for the Digital India Awards. A project may be nominated for more than one category.
