The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Monday sent notices to the Human Resource Development Ministry, the CBSE and the Delhi Police over the leak of question papers of class-X Mathematics and Class-XII Economics examination.
The NHRC has also sought a detailed report from the CBSE, the Delhi Police and the HRD Ministry regarding the paper leak of question within four weeks.
The rights body in its notice has also observed that such instances would “adversely affect the credibility of the institution.”
An NHRC official told the media that they have sent the notices to Union Ministry of Human Resource Development secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) chairperson and Delhi Police commissioner.
“The HRD Ministry is also expected to inform the Commission about the steps taken regarding counselling of the aggrieved students,” the right body said in a statement.
On March 28, the CBSE had announced that around two million students will have to reappear for the examination of the two subjects – class 10 mathematics and class 12 economics – after reports of their papers being leaked.
The HRD Ministry last week had announced that the re-examination of the CBSE Class XII economics paper would be held on April 25.
