Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday met the heads of prominent schools of Dibrugarh and asked them to create an environment where students can gain knowledge and imbibe moral values, according to an official statement.
Making suggestions to improve the academic environment of the schools Sonowal urged the teachers to observe students’ actions and behaviours to groom their personality.
The chief mister said educational institutions heads should strive hard to promote quality education in their respective schools.
Stating that classroom teaching is inadequate to develop students as good human beings, the chief minister emphasised on orienting them with moral values to dispel superstition and negativity.
In order to encourage students to take up sports as an integral part of their lives, Sonowal suggested sports activities for two hours every day in schools.
