As per the latest notification released, the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has decided to admit students for various engineering programmes and medical courses through JEE Main and NEET UG respectively. Earlier, the BCECEB used to conduct Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) for admission into engineering and medical courses.
The board will later announce the counselling schedule for admission to undergraduate engineering and veterinary courses. Students will be required to register separately for counselling. The candidates who were not able to apply for JEE Main January 2019 can now apply for JEE Main in April. The application process for NEET 2019 exam, however, has closed and the next examination will be conducted on May 5, 2019.
However, with this latest announcement, Bihar has joined a list of states that accept JEE Main scores for admission to engineering programmes. Those who are not aware, NEET is an entrance examination for students who wish to study graduate and undergraduate medical course (MBBS, MD, MS) and dental course (BDS, MDS) in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges respectively in India. JEE Main, on the other hand, is an engineering entrance examination conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India.
