Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L) is all set to conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT 2017) on November 26 in two slots in same exam pattern. While last year candidates were directed to wear open footwear, this year jewelleries and shoes will not be allowed inside the exam hall.

Students who are waiting eagerly to appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT 2017) should keep the following things in mind.

-Report by 7:30 am for morning session and by 1 pm for the afternoon session

-Only admit card and a photo ID proof will be allowed inside the exam hall

-Applicants who have opted for a scribe should carry the Scribe Educational Qualifications Affidavit and photo ID proof for both

-Paste the photograph on the CAT 2017 admit card

"By and large all preparations have been made for the test. We wish all the candidates best of luck for the test," Prof Neeraj Dwivedi of IIM(L), the convener of the examination was quoted while interacting with reporters.

"The test, which will be held in two sessions of 180 minutes each, will have three sections. Section I will have the verbal ability and reading comprehension; section II will be data interpretation and logical reasoning and section III will deal with quantitative ability," Prof Dwivedi said.

"We will also allow the use of the basic onscreen calculator for computation. Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section," he added.

While a total of 78,009 women candidates have been registered for the exam, the number of transgender candidates increased to 31 from 22 last year. The number of physically challenged applicants is 910 against last year's 921.

With a valid CAT rank, a candidate can be enrolled in 20IIMs and more than 100 prestigious business schools across the country.

About Common Admission Test:

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer-based test which takes place in India. The test evaluates a candidate on the bases of Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability (VA) and Reading Comprehension (RC), Data Interpretation (DI) and Logical Reasoning (LR). The test is conducted every year by one of the IIMs based on a policy of rotation.
