Delhi University student security: DU take strict measures to prevent ragging and women’s safety

The DU University Have Asked Parents And Guardians Of All Students To Submit Undertakings During Admissions That Their Wards Will Not Indulge In Such Activities. The University Has Also Set Up Two Joint Control Rooms In The North And South Campus In This Regard.

DU announces strict measures to prevent ragging and women’s safety

New Delhi:

Delhi University which is about to commence classes of its academic year 2017 is taking some strict action to ensure that the campus is ragging free. This step has been taken for the new comers. For this purpose, the university has released a notice in all its colleges which contains a list of measures to stop such activities inside the campus.

Here are some of the measures taken by the DU:

Anti-ragging:

The DU university have asked parents and guardians of all students to submit undertakings during admissions that their wards will not indulge in such activities. The university has also set up two Joint Control Rooms in the North and South campus in this regard. Anti-ragging and disciplinary committees will be formed at all institutions to prevent ragging. Institutions will display rules regarding the prohibition of ragging on campus and “extra vigil is being maintained at all eating joints”.

Safety of female students:

In order to protect female students, the university has tied up with the Delhi Police as a result of which women police will be present on the campus and any one indulging in the events like eve teasing or activites similar to this will be taken care of immediately. Women police trained in martial arts will also be present on the campus. Women police will also, provide basic training in self-defense to the female students.

Outsiders:

This year the university has made sure that outsiders will not be permitted from entering colleges, centres and hostels. Defacing of walls using paint, poster or any other method is not allowed also display of sensitive posters and graffiti within campus is probhited. Traffic at sensitive locations near campus will be regulated by the Delhi Police and students have been advised to use public transport in order to prevent congestion.

DU Admission 2017: Important Dates to remember

-Document verification and approval of admission: July 1 to July 4

-Notification of Third Cut-off Marks List by the Colleges: July 7

-Document verification and approval of admission: July 7 to July 10

-Notification of Fourth Cut-off Marks List by the Colleges (if any): July 13

-Document verification and approval of admission: July 13 to July 15

-Notification of Fifth Cut-off Marks List by the Colleges (if any): July 18

-Document verification and approval of admission: July 18 to July 19
