GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted online over multiple exam centers across India. The exam helps the students to get through the post graduate admissions.

The GATE 2018 entrance examination is an All-India exam conducted in nine different zones across the country - IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur etc.

GATE 2018- Application Fee

There is a certain amount of money which has to be paid as the application fee for the exam. The fees can neither be refunded nor can it be transferred. The application fee can be paid only through online mode of payment. Also, the online transaction or the bank charges will be applied additionally.

There is little relaxation for female and SC/ST candidates as they have to pay only Rs 750. Whereas all the other candidates have to pay 1500 as charges of application fee.

For foreign citizens of Dubai and Singapore, the charges of application fee will be US$100 and for the citizens of the Abada, Colombo, Kathmandu, and Dhaka is US$50.

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

To crack the most difficult test, you must know the exam pattern and syllabus completely. Students should make self-made notes in any form which will help you to revise key points before the exam.

Prepare According to Subject Weightage

After checking the exam pattern and syllabus, second step is to check the subjects which have the greatest and lowest weightage and according to it prepare your own syllabus. Make a proper study plan and schedule for yourself and set monthly or weekly targets for yourself. 

Revision

Start revising all subjects and concepts covered by you there in 2 months prior to the examination month and don’t study any new concepts that you haven’t touched earlier. Revise using your short notes and by solving mock tests and previous year question papers. 

Time Management

Time is key to crack any exam. Keep a tab on the time you spend on solving questions so that you get into the habit of solving questions in a timely way in accordance with the exam pattern and duration.
