The Central Board of Secondary Education is all set to conduct the prestigious Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains on Sunday, April 8, in pen-paper (offline) mode. The computer-based (online) examinations will be held on April 15 and April 16, 2018.

"Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (Mains) aspirants assemble outside an examination centre in Delhi's RK Puram, exam to begin at 9.30 am," according to ANI.

The examinations will take place at different centres in 112 cities across the country and some parts of abroad.

In the view of massive uproar due to the recent paper leak scam during Class X and Class XII examinations, CBSE has taken necessary steps to prevent candidates from cheating. Earlier, on March 25, the board has set up metal detectors for students appearing for the fifth JEE Mains.

The stringent system is introduced in order to prevent candidates from carrying several Bluetooth enabled electronic devices which are being used for cheating and wrong deeds.

Materials like cell phone, calculator, electronic watch, log table, book, notebook, printed or handwritten documents are also not allowed in the centres. Any of the candidates found carrying these items will be expelled for the examination.

Carrying ball pens are also prohibited at the examinations centres across the globe. CBSE will supply the same during the test.

However, architecture candidates are directed to bring their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons for their respective tests.

CBSE has also prepared different sets of question paper for different shifts on different dates of examinations.
