The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) on Saturday released the date sheet for the state-level Common Entrance Test (CET) 2019. The authority is all set to conduct the CET 2019 examination on April 23 and April 24 in two different shifts - morning and afternoon. However, the Horanadu and Gadinadu candidates need to appear for the Kannada language test on April 25 in Bengaluru. The online registration process for the Karnataka CET 2019 is expected to begin in February and the KEA will make the link available at its official website i.e. kea.kar.nic.in. In 2018, the examination took place on April 18 and 19 while the results were declared in June same year.
The CET is a gateway to various undergraduate courses in the Engineering, Technology, Farm Science courses like Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B,V,Sc, & A.H.), B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons) Sericulture, B.Sc. (Hons) Horticulture, B.Sc (Hons) Forestry, B.Tech (Bio Technology), B.Sc.(Hons) Community Science, B,Tech (Agricultural Engineering), B.Tech (Food Technology), B.Tech (Dairy Tech), B.F,Sc (Fisheries), B.Sc. (Agri. Marketing & Co-Op) and B.Pharm & Pharm-D courses.
However, for the medical and dental courses, aspirants need to clear the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2019, which will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) May 5, 2019. The agency will start the form correction process for the national level entrance test from Monday, January 14, 2018.

Meanwhile, in a bid to end complaints of malpractices in the CET exams, the Education ministry is planning to hold the Common Entrance Test (CET) in online mode. Speaking to reporters GT Devegowda, the Minister for Higher Education said "CET and other things that are there we want to do it online, make it paperless. We want to do it from next year... that's our decision". A meeting has been also convened to take a decision regarding the same.
