The historic Khalsa college here on Saturday inaugurated a 775-kilowatt solar energy plant on its campus in a bid to switch to green energy.

Solar panels have been installed in all the colleges, schools and other buildings on the Khalsa college campus, including hostels and canteens, to minimize their dependence on thermal and hydro-based electricity, Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) President Satyajit Singh Majithia said.

Majithia inaugurated the plant in the presence of Honourary Secretary R M S Chhina and Sanjeev Aggarwal, MD and CEO of Amplus, the company which has installed the project.
