New Delhi:

Students can appear for NEET twice a year; best score to be considered for admission, says Union Minister Prakash Javadekar.

The union HRD minister announced that the national level engineering and medical entrance examinations - JEE Main and NEET - will take place twice a year, while addressing a press conference in the national capital on Saturday.

Javdekar said a newly formed examination conducting agency, National Testing Agency will start conducting the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main and National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination (NEET), NET exams, which are currently being organised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

While NEET will take place in February and May, JEE exams will be conducted in January and April respectively, Javadekar said.

The Union minister also said that all examinations under the National Testing Agency will be computer-based.

“Computer centres will be set up where students with no access to computers can practise from August-end or September,” the union minister added.
