The Ministry of Human Resource Development was scheduled to close the registration window for the free online courses called SWAYAM on December 31, 2018. Now, as per the latest notification, the last date for registration for the examination has been extended to january 5th, 2019. The MHRD is inviting applications for registering for the examinations and the exams are to be conducted on January 19 and January 20, 2019. It will held in two sessions, morning and afternoon session.
The morning session will start from 9 am to 12 pm and the afternoon session to commence from 2 pm to 5 pm. The aspiring candidates can register for the examination of the official website, www.swayam.gov.in.

The SWAYAM Examination 2019 will be conducted for 39 courses and the students who have applied for more than one course can appear for one exam only in one slot. The examination will be conducted in 56 cities across India.
The examination fee charged per course is Rs 1000 and for the reserved candidates like SC, ST, OBC, PwD, the fee charged is Rs 500. If the candidate clears the examination, their exam fee gets refunded completely. Students need to score more than 40 per cent marks to clear the exam. SWAYAM will also grant a cerficate after passing the exam.

Here are the steps to register for the SWAYAM Exam 2019:
1. Visit the official website, www.swayam.gov.in
2. Click on the 'SWAYAM Examination 2019' link
3. On new window, click 'log in' or create new account
4. Log-in using a registered username and password while signing-up/registering
5. Select the subjects of choosing
6. Take print of the registration form for future reference.
SWAYAM is a programme initiated by Government of India and designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz., access, equity and quality. The objective of this effort is to take the best teaching learning resources to all, including the most disadvantaged. SWAYAM seeks to bridge the digital divide for students who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy.
