The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is conducting the National Eligibility Test (NET) for the junior research fellowship and appointment of Lectureship, in science and technology disciplines, on Sunday. The exam is being conducted at 27 centres across the country.
The test will be conducted for the following subjects:
- Chemical Sciences
- Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
- Life Sciences
- Mathematical Sciences
- Physical Sciences

The exam is being held in two sessions:
- First session (morning): Life science and Physical Science
- Second session (afternoon): Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences
Negative marking
There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the paper and the final result will be released in March/ April 2019.
What is CSIR UGC NET?
CSIR UGC NET is conducted for determination of eligibility of candidates for Lectureship positions in Indian University/Colleges and for selection of candidates for JRF award by CSIR.
CSIR UGC NET is conducted twice a year, in June and in December.
