With the aim of expanding employment oppurtunities for youth of every region pro-efficient only with the local tongue, Finance Miniter Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the Economic Survey today announced that recruitment examination for Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) will be conducted in not just English and Hindi but in 13 national languages.
The examination conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), will be conducted in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu from the next recruitment notification onwards.
"To provide a level playing field & to expand employment possibilities for local youths,it has been decided that examination for direct recruitment of officers (Scale-I)& OfficeAssistant inRRBs will be conducted in 13 regional languages in addition to English & Hindi" said Nirmala Sitharaman.Â

Recently, IBPSC notified around 8000 vacancies at Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) out of which 3688 vacancies are for Office Assistant, 3381 vacancies are for Officer Scale I, 1746 vacancies are for Officer Scale II and 1174 vacancies are for Officer Scale III. The examinations will be held from August 03 to August 25.
