Union Public Service Commission is conducting Civil Services Prelims Examination 2017 today. The first slot of the exam is over and students who appeared for the test have given mixed reactions, with several complaining that General Knowledge section was difficult, while others flunking it for the sake of ICC Champions Trophy India vs Pakistan match final. 

One of the candidates who had appeared for the first slot told India.com, “The General Knowledge paper was quite tough. It was very difficult to crack the questions. Overall the paper was easy but GK section was difficult”. While another candidate was reported saying despite first attempt, he found the overall paper balanced.

The UPSC Civil Services Prelims CSAT Exam 2017 got over at 12:30 PM.

In another surprising development, several students and invigilators chose ICC Champions Trophy final India vs Pakistan match over UPSC Prelims exam. Reports from across the state of Haryana and New Delhi have confirmed that the attendance at the UPSC Preliminary Examination 2017, also scheduled for today has shown lower than average turnout in the first leg of the examinations for selection of the IAS, IPS and other administrative departments in the Government of India, a report said. 

The report added that the administrators have also confirmed unprecedented medical emergencies reported by invigilators on duty. 

Candidates who will qualified the preliminary phase of Civil Services Exam 2017 will become eligible for the Mains phase. After qualifying the Mains phase of Civil Services Exam candidates will have to appear for the Personality Test. After qualifying all the stages of the recruitment process, candidates will be selected for the prestigious post in Civil Services.
