JEE Main is going to be held only in English and Hindi from the year 2021 onwards. Earlier, the JEE Main was held in English, Hindi and Gujarati languages, however, NTA (National Testing Agency), the conducting body of JEE Main, has decided to drop Gujarati language as medium from the 2021 session, and questions in the Joint Entrance Exam will be asked only in English and Hindi languages.
Meanwhile, NTA replaced CBSE as the conducting body for JEE Main in 2019, and since then NTA was come forward with many changes in the examination. One of such changes include the exam being conducted twice in a year in online mode. Before 2019, when CBSE was the conducting body of JEE Main, the questions in the exam were asked in Marathi, Urdu and Marathi along-with English and Hindi medium. However, in the year 2016, Urdu and Marathi medium were dropped as a medium for JEE Main.
The advisory committee of JEE Main has decided to drop Gujarati medium from the year 2020 onwards. It is to note that nearly 2.4 lakhs candidate who crack the JEE Main 2020 exam will be shortlisted for JEE Advanced exam for admission to IITs.
