The JNU Administration held an Academic Council Meeting on Thursday to approve alternative and regular modes of Examination to complete the last semester. However, JNUTA, the JNU Teachers Association is not happy with the decision as the AC (Academic Council) approved the alternative exam mode even after 12 out of 18 schools and special centers rejected the concept. Meanwhile, JNU Teachers Association said that the administration didn’t allow any member to register their views against the decision during the meeting.
JNU Semester Exam Through Alternative Modes
JUNTA also mentioned that the JNU Administration didn’t inform the council members about the recommendations that were drafted by Board of Studies of the schools recommendations. Nevertheless, according to JNU Registrar Pramod Kumar, the Academic Council has reached to the final decision of clearing alternative exam mode for the last semester exam after considering all the recommendations, and is going to the submit the respective response to the High Court on Friday.
In the meantime, the Delhi High Court asked all the Board of Schools and Special Centres Committees at the university to suggest on how to conduct the remaining academic session of the monsoon semester. According to reports, only three schools in the committee approved the idea of conducting the JNU exam through Email and WhatsApp while 2 schools said to conduct the conduct the exam through regular as well as alternative modes.
It is to note that may AC Members alleged that had no information about the different recommendations of Board of Schools after Thursday Meeting. According to an Academic Council member the council didn’t any such paper regarding the Board of School Recommendations.
