Kerala State Literacy Mission is going to enroll over lakh Kudumbashree School Dropouts under its Women Empowerment Project “Kudumbashree”. All those women school students who have dropped out due to some reasons can now resume their studies. It is to note that these women students who dropped out can again take class 10 and class 12 examinations from next year onwards. Importantly, the mission is going to arrange classes in as many as 1000 local bodies in the state that will include two batches of 50 members group.
In the meantime, Director of the Kerala State Literacy Mission, P S Sreekala has said that this initiative will support tremendously in women empowerment and help those who discontinued their studies. According to the notification released by Kerala Literacy Mission, it is for the first time that women students in such a large number will be able to resume their class 10 and class 12 studies. Further, the notification mentions that there are more than 48 lakh Kudumbashree members in the Kerala state out of which 10 lakh students have not got required certificates.
The registration process will start from October 11, 2019 and the classes for women students will begin from January 2020. Meanwhile, Kudumbashree is one of the largest women empowerment projects in the country with 50% Kerala household’s membership.
