Maharashtra Governor Vidaysagar Rao to lay foundation stone at Mumbai University for Student and Youth Movements Centre

Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao will lay the foundation stone and perform bhoomi-pujan today at Mumbai University for the Bal Apte Centre for Studies and Youth Movements.

Maharashtra Governor Vidyasagar Rao will lay the foundation stone and perform bhoomi-pujan today at Mumbai University for the Bal Apte Centre for Studies and Youth Movements. The Youth Movement Centre at Mumbai University will be established at Kalina campus of the university. The bhoomi-pujan ceremony at the university will be performed by RSS Joint General Secretary, Dattatrey Hosbale. Former Chief Minister Manohar Joshi along-with other ministers like Chandrakant Dada Patil, Vinod Tawde and Ashish Shelar will also be present during the function.

According to media reports, financial funding worth Rs. 25 crore is bestowed by the state for the upcoming Student and Youth Movements Centre at MU. Moreover, the reports also suggest that the salaries of 11 faculty members will also be given by the state government. Additional fund of Rs. 12 crore will also be received by Mumbai University from district development fund. In addition, the university will received financial support through CSR activities from various organizations.

In the meantime, the Youth and Movements Centre at MU will improve the skill-set of those student who wish to join NGOs on a local or international level. The Centre will also help students to work as political and social analysts at UN and other international organizations.

A statement released by MU read the centre came into existence for in-depth scientific research and study of movements where the involvement of students is huge towards social revolution.

Mumbai University Youth Centre
