NTA Clears All Confusion Over JEE Main Gujarati Language

New Delhi:

The National Testing Agency has cleared all confusions regarding the medium of question paper and has issued a press release stating that Gujarati as a medium for the JEE Main was included because no other states approached NTA to provide the JEE Main question in other Indian regional languages.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted and questioned the addition of Gujarati language as a medium for JEE Main other than English and Hindi, and asked why other regional languages are not included as a medium for the JEE Main question paper. NTA’s clarification has come today, a day after Mamata Banerjee tweeted about the inclusion of Guajarati Medium as a medium for JEE Main 2020.

Meanwhile, it was in the year 2014 when CBSE added Urdu, Marathi and Gujarati to the JEE Main exam medium. Nevertheless, Urdu and Marathi were dropped in 2016 while Guajarati as a medium continued for JEE Main exam. It is also to note that NTA (National Testing Agency) took over the JEE Main exam in 2019b from CBSE.

National Testing Agency released a press release on Thursday and said that in 2013 the agency sent a request to all states asking if they want to give admission to students to state engineering colleges through JEE Mains.
