The Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun has announced its admission process for 138 seats in the Master of Science (MSc) programme in Forestry, Wood Science and Technology, Environment Management and Cellulose and Paper Technology on the official website, fri.icfre.gov.in. The last day to apply through post is Mach 29, while online application process for the courses will conclude on April 8, 2019.
The admission test will be conducted on May 19, 2019 in 12 cities across India --- Dehradun, Delhi, Jabalpur, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Ranchi, Lucknow, Jodhpur, Shimla, Coimbatore and Jorhat.
The institute will release the admit card for the admission test in the fourth week of April. The candidates will get their hall ticket in the mail id by April 30, 2019.
Eligibility criteria:
1. MSc Forestry: The candidate should possess a three-year bachelor’s degree in science with at least one of the subjects of Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Zoology or should have a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry.
2. MSc Environment Management: The candidate should possess a three-year bachelor’s degree in any branch of Basic or Applied Sciences or a bachelor’s degree in Forestry or Agriculture or BE/BTech in Environment Science.
3. MSc Wood Science and Technology: The candidate should possess a three-year bachelor’s degree with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or a BSc degree in Forestry.
4. MSc Cellulose and Paper Technology: The candidate should hold a graduate degree with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects. BE/BTech (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 50 per cent aggregate).
Application fee:
The candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 1,200.
