AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal released a video message over the issue of Rahul Bhatt’s brutal murder, today. Shri Kejriwal called for protection & security of Kashmiri Pandits and expressed his deep concern over the prevailing situation. He stated, “The whole country is worried about Kashmiri Pandits today; Kashmir is their homeland, they want to settle and live a life of dignity there. Kashmiri Pandits are living in fear ever since the killing of Rahul Bhatt. Incorrect and unfair to shell teargas and lathicharge on Kashmiri Pandits. The Kashmiri Pandits are mourning the loss of their loved one, they deserve love and care not hostility. The officers who acted with such brutality must be suspended immediately. This is not a political issue but a national issue; Kashmiri Pandits deserve to be protected. If the law and order situation is so bad then in what hope will the Kashmiri Pandits move back to the valley? Centre must get rid of all loopholes and ensure best possible security arrangements for the Kashmiri Pandits no matter how much it costs. This country will not spare the terrorists and traitors.”

Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “A few days back, Rahul Bhatt, a civil servant was gruesomely murdered in Kashmir. A group of terrorists barged into his office, asked his name and shot him there and then. It felt like a premeditated killing where the terrorists had decided to murder a Kashmiri Pandit. The Indian Army killed two terrorists in just 24 hours after the incident. But today a question plagues the nation — why aren’t the Kashmiri Pandits safe in Kashmir even today?”

He added, “A large number of Kashmiri Pandit youths were sent back to work in Kashmir under a special package. These people wanted to live in peace and dignity there. It is their homeland which they want to settle in with their families. After this incident, all Kashmiri Pandits living in the region are completely terrified. When these people set out to protest to voice their anger against the brutal killing, they were met with brute action. They were stopped. Their voices were suppressed. They had to face teargas and lathicharge. They were locked inside their own colony. Why? This is not right at all. The officers behind this action must be suspended immediately.”

He continued, “This is not the time for anyone to play politics. This is not a political issue but a national issue. Kashmiri Pandits want security. They don’t feel safe there. If Kashmiri Pandits don’t get proper security in their homeland then how will the Kashmiri migrants living all over the country rehabilitate to their homes? There won’t be any assurance greater than law and order that will motivate them to rehabilitate the valley. With folded hands I request the Centre, please do whatever you can and help the Kashmiri Pandits lead a dignified life. No matter how much it costs, every provision needed must be implemented.”

The AAP Convenor concluded, “Please don’t lathicharge on the Kashmiri Pandits who are protesting the loss of their friend, their colleague. These people deserve our love and care not our animosity. They are our own, we can’t shell teargas on them. The terrorists and traitors should understand clearly that this nation will not spare them at any cost, sooner or later. Kashmiri Pandits are living all over India today, I know a lot of them who live in Delhi. We all have to come together and protect them. We have to ensure they get rehabilitated to their homelands. I am certain that every Indian stands in solidarity with the Kashmiri Pandits and will not let their hopes falter.”.
