The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has approached as many as seven AAP MLAs and offered Rs 10 crore each allegedly in its bid to buy those lawmakers, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday while campaigning for his party in Delhi's Chandni Chowk area.
Addressing a massive roadshow in support of AAP candidate from the seat, Kejriwal said, "In the past three days, seven of our MLAs have told us that BJP has approached them and has offered Rs 10 crore each to buy them. They want to break our MLAs, this doesn't suit Prime Minister Narendra Modi".
"A day before yesterday, Prime Minister had said that he will buy 40 MLAs of Mamata Banerjee and make her government fall," the Delhi chief minister said in a reference to PM Modi's statement in West Bengal's Srirampur rally.
While addressing an election rally at Srirampur Modi had on Monday said 40 Trinamool Congress MLAs are in touch with him and there is nothing that can save Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Asking people to support the good work done by AAP, Kejriwal said his government has worked for welfare of the people and, therefore, they should vote for full statehood of the national capital, the party's plank for the Lok Sabha elections.
