Assembly Elections: Poll violence in Andhra Pradesh, voting underway in Odisha, Sikkim

Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Odisha are being held on Thursday along with the elections for 91 Lok Sabha constituencies across 18 states and two Union Territories. The Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Odisha are being held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections 2019. In Andhra Pradesh, as over 3.93 crore voters will exercise their franchise for the first time after bifurcation of the state in 2014. There are 2,118 candidates for 175 assembly seats and 319 for the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies. In Sikkim, polling will be held on all the 32 Assembly seats in the first phase. In Odisha, voting is being held only on 28 of the 147 Assembly seats in the first phase.
