Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh East, at a roadshow in Mirzapur, said, "You have elected the world's greatest actor as PM. It would be better if you would elect Amitabh Bachchan instead. Anyway, no one would do anything for you." On the last day of campaigning for the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a potshot at PM Modi and said that he never fulfilled his promises and that he is the 'world's greatest actor.'
Lalitesh Pati Tripathi, Mizrapur Congress candidate was also present in the raodshow. He is pitted against Apna Dal candidate Anupriya Patel. Anupriya Patel won from Mirzapur Lok Sabha seat in 2014 as a candidate of Apna Dal, in alliance with the BJP, by 2.19 lakh votes against BSP's Samudra Bind. While Patel secured 4.36 lakh votes, Bind received 2.17 lakh votes. Congress' Lalitesh Pati Tripathi had secured third position with 1.52 lakh votes.
Later in the day, the Congress general secretary is slated to address another roadshow in Kushinagar. Mirzapur and Kushinagar parliamentary constituency goes to polls in the seventh and last phase of Lok Sabha elections on May 19. The results will be declared on May 23.
