BSP announces 6 candidates for Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Monday released a list of six candidates in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The six seats where BSP has announced its candidates included Hamirpur, Shahjahanpur, Misrikh, Akbarpur, Farrukhabad and Jalaun. The names featured in the list are – Amar Chandra Johar, Neelu Satyarthi, Manoj Agarwal, Nisha Sachan, Pankaj Singh and Dilip Kumar Singh.

The BSP has formed a pre-poll alliance with Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party (SP) and Ajit Singh’s Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD). As per the seat-sharing pact, the BSP will contest 38 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, while the SP will fight on 37 seats. The SP-BSP alliance had initially allocated two seats to the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) but later Akhilesh Yadav gave one more seat from his party’s quota to Ajit Singh's party.

Seats on which BSP will field its candidates:

Saharanpur, Bijnor, Nagina, Amroha, Meerut, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Aonla, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Dhaurahra, Misrikh, Mohanlalganj, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Farukkhabad, Akbarpur, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Kaiserganj, Domariyaganj, Shrawasti, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Deoria, Bansgaon, Lalganj, Ghosi, Jaunpur, Salempur, Bhadohi, Ghazipur and Machhlishahr. 

Seats on which SP will contest:  

Moradabad, Kairana, Rampur, Sambhal, Ghaziabad, Hathras, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Badaun, Etah, Pilibhit, Bareilly, Kheri, Unnao, Hardoi, Etawah, Lucknow, Banda, Jhansi, Kannauj, Kanpur, Kaushambi, Phulpur, Allahabad, Barabanki, Baharaich, Gonda, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Azamgarh, Balia, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Robertsganj and Faizabad.
