The Congress has finally sealed an alliance with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Jharkhand for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019 to take on the ruling BJP. Former Union minister and Congress leader RPN Singh announced the alliance and shared his picture on Twitter with Congress president Rahul Gandhi, JMM chief and former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren and Congress Jharkhand chief Dr Ajoy Kumar.
Soren met the Congress president in Dehli along with Congress president Dr Ajoy Kumar.
According to reports, the grand old party will contest the maximum number of seats in 2019 General Elections followed by JMM. With this alliance, the BJP, which won 12 out of Jharkhand’s 14 seats in the last Lok Sabha elections, could be in trouble.
The Congress, which was left out of the alliance in by Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party in Uttar Pradesh, is hopeful of winning at least 6 seats in the states, sources said.
