As 2019 Lok Sabha Election nears, the Congress on Saturday released another list of 5 candidates, including 3 from Punjab, one from Himachal Pradesh and one from Bihar. The list features disgruntled BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha, who earlier today joined Congress to contest from Patna Sahib seat Lok Sabha seat in Bihar.
In its list of three candidates from Bihar, the party has fielded Jasbir Singh Gill from Khadoor Sahib, Amar Singh from Fatehgarh Sahib and Mohd Sadique from Faridkot.
For Himachal Pradesh, Congress has nominated Ram Lal Thakur from Hamirpur Lok Sabha seats. Thakur, 67, is the sitting Congress MLA from Naina Devi assembly segment. The five-time MLA will contest from Hamirpur against sitting BJP MP Anurag Thakur, who is the son of former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.
In 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Anurag Thakur had defeated Rajinder Singh Rana by a comfortable margin of 98,000 votes.

Bihar, which is the representative of 40 Lok Sabha seats, will vote in all seven phases starting from April 11. Polling to 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab is scheduled to be held in a single phase on May 19. Himachal Pradesh, which sends 4 members to the Lok Sabha, will also vote in the last phase of General Elections on May 19.
Seven-phase Lok Sabha Elections is scheduled to take place between April 11 and May 19. The counting of votes for all phase will be taken up on May 23.
