Congress general secretary in-charge of Uttar Pradesh east Priyanka Gandhi, who has been holding series of meetings with party workers, on Wednesday said that the party will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections with all its might. “We will work hard and fight 2019 General Elections with our full might" (2019 ki ladai hum ekdum ji jaan se ladenge),†the 47-year-old said in Lucknow.

Earlier in the day, she tried to downplay the ongoing questioning of her husband and businessman Robert Vadra by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and said, "These things will keep going on. I am doing my work." On her meeting with party workers, Priyanka said she is happy to see the enthusiasm of party workers. "I am learning a lot about the organisation and how it is structured. I am getting views on how to fight the elections," she said.
Priyanka has been given the responsibility of 41 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state by Congress president and her brother Rahul Gandhi. Among the constituencies placed under Priyanka’s charge were the key seats of Gorakhpur – considered to be stronghold of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Varanasi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency, Phulpur – a constituency once represented by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Allahabad, Lucknow, Amethi, Raebareli, Sultanpur, Barabanki, and Kushinagar.
