Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday endorsed Congress chief Rahul Gandhi as the next prime minister of the country. Tejashwi, while addressing a rally at Samastipur in Bihar, said the ‘AICC president does what he says, and the country needs a prime minister like him.’
"Please make Rahul ji PM as not only does he talk about the poor, he also doesn't have any problem meeting them, unlike our Prime Minister Modi who has time to attend actress Priyanka Chopra's reception but can't visit a poor man's home," the former deputy chief minister of Bihar said.

He said this when Gandhi was on the dais. This was the first time when both the leader shared a stage in this election season.
Earlier, there were reports of fissure when Yadav skipped four rallies addressed by Gandhi in the state. He attributed this to part of strategy so that leaders of the grand alliance cover more places during campaign.
Yadav skipped Gandhi’s rallies in Purnea (on March 23), Gaya (April 9), Katihar (April 10) and Supaul (April 20).
“I will definitely share the stage with him (Rahul Gandhi) and you will see it in the coming days. This is a part of strategy that we (leaders of Grand Alliance) should cover more and more places during election campaigning,†Yadav had told reporters.
