Prime Minister Narendra Modi government’s five-year term is nearing to an end. The Lok Sabha Elections are currently underway and PM Modi is seeking a second term in office. During last five years, there were many obstacles created by ‘tukde-tukde gang’, award- wapsi gang but PM Modi did not stop and he continued his hard work for the country. All these factors could not stop BJP from winning several state elections. During his five-year term, PM Modi faced harsh criticism not only from the opposition but also from intellectuals.
In an exclusive interview with News Nation’s Deepak Chaurasia and Peenaz Tyagi, PM Modi opened up on all the criticisms and allegations that he faced during his five-year term. Taking a dig at the opposition, PM Modi said, “In last five years they have not found any single reason. Everything is just ‘hawabaazi’. There were so many sessions of Parliament. Why they didn’t raise the issue and said that this action of Modi was anti-democratic?”
Sharing the instance of the time when PM Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he said, “When I became CM, there used to be lot of files at the end of the month. Once I asked what is this all about? They answered saying that there is an inquiry against an officer who is retiring tomorrow. We need to send a notice to him today itself. I told them what you are doing, stop it! A man who worked for 35 years is undergoing a probe for something that happened 20 years ago. Now on a day when he is retiring, you are sending a notice. This must stop. Is this not democratic? All my actions have led to strengthening democracy. I have always taken pro-democracy actions.”
To another question which was related to criticism, PM Modi said, “I feel there should be criticism. In democracy, there should be a lot of criticism. But, it is my misfortune that there is no criticism but just allegations. Allegations is just about action and reaction. And when I know that these are all false allegation, I don’t waste time. I just stay in my own way and serve people of our nation.”
