In an exclusive interview with News Nation’s Deepak Chaurasia and Peenaz Tyagi, PM Modi opened up on all the criticisms and allegations that he faced during his five-year term. Sharing the instance of the time when PM Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he said, “When I became CM, there used to be lot of files at the end of the month. Once I asked what is this all about? They answered saying that there is an inquiry against an officer who is retiring tomorrow. We need to send a notice to him today itself. I told them what you are doing, stop it! A man who worked for 35 years is undergoing a probe for something that happened 20 years ago. Now on a day when he is retiring, you are sending a notice. This must stop. Is this not democratic? All my actions have led to strengthening democracy. I have always taken pro-democracy actions.”

To another question which was related to criticism, PM Modi said, “I feel there should be criticism. In democracy, there should be a lot of criticism. But, it is my misfortune that there is no criticism but just allegations. Allegations is just about action and reaction. And when I know that these are all false allegation, I don’t waste time. I just stay in my own way and serve people of our nation.”
