Here is first list of 15 Congress candidates for Lok Sabha Elections 2019

Congress president Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi

The Congress party on Thursday released the first list of 15 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. According to the list, the Congress party president Rahul Gandhi will be contesting from his bastion Amethi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will be contesting from her home turf, Rae Bareli. The Congress party has also announced a few seats in Gujarat, including the Vadodara and Anand constituencies that are BJP strongholds.

To recall, in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress had managed to win only the two bastions of Amethi and Rae Bareli in UP that has 80 Parliamentary constituencies. The party has come out with 15 names in its first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

Interesting, the first list of Congress Central Election Committee does not feature Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's name.
