After early trends showed Modi wave sweeping across most parts of India, BJP leaders were all praises for Narendra Modi amd Amit Shah. While the Congress said that its strategies have failed, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah congratulated PM Modi.
Let us take a look at who said what:
Rajnath Singh, BJP: This historic victory in general elections is outcome of Modi's visionary leadership, Amit Shah's dynamism.
Sushma Swaraj, BJP: PM Narendra Modi, thank you for making BJP win by such a massive margin. I am grateful to the people of the country.
Prem Chandra Mishra, Congress spokesperson: The trends have put the Congress on a backfoot. All our strategies have failed.
Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, CPI General Secretary: Nationalism worked (for the BJP)... points raised by opposition unemployment, price rise, and ommissions and commissions of the BJP did not stand before the nationalism, particularly northern states.
Amit Malviya, BJP spokesperson: The people on the ground are not buying the narrative of the Opposition that people are under threat. In Kerala, people are doing well that they are looking forward to the next government of Narendra Modi. We have to realise that Modi's government inherited very weak economy and he has done a phenomenal job.
Omar Abdullah, NC leader: So the exit polls were correct. All that’s left is to congratulate the BJP & NDA for a stellar performance. Credit where credit is due PM Modi Sahib & Mr Amit Shah put together a winning alliance & a very professional campaign. Bring on the next five years.
