Keeping the suspense going on seat-sharing in Uttar Pradesh, Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar said that his party is in talks with the Congress, which has offered eight seats in Uttar Pradesh. His son Arvind Rajbhar and party general secretary Rana Ajit Singh have met AICC general secretary for Uttar Pradesh east Priyanka Gandhi also. He also said that since his party hasn’t been offered any seat by the NJP, there are chances he will go to the polls with the Congress.

Rajbhar was the backward class welfare minister from Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh. He had given a 100-day ultimatum to the NDA. Talking to News State, Rajbhar had said that in case the BJP fails to implement 27% reservation, he would quit.

In February, the SBSP chief took to Twitter and posted the letter, in which he said that he would hand over the charge of the ministry as his recommendations in the appointment of state backward castes panel members have been "ignored".

The Backward Classes Welfare Minister had alleged that the Bulandshahr violence was a “pre-planned conspiracy” of the RSS – the ideological patriarch of the ruling BJP – in collaboration with the hard-line Hindu groups VHP and Bajrang Dal to disturb the peace. “This (Bulandshahr violence) was a pre-planned conspiracy by VHP, Bajrang Dal and RSS, now police is even naming some BJP members. Why did the protest happen on the same day of Muslim Ijtema event? It was an attempt to disturb the peace,” ANI was quoted SBSP leader Rajbhar as saying.
