Bashes now, sends envoys later to stitch alliances, Mehbooba hits back at PM Modi for Kathua speech

Mehbooba Mufti was reacting to PM Modi’s speech which he made in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with its noxious agenda of banishing Muslims and minorities wants to divide India. Mufti was reacting to PM Modi’s speech which he made in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua. PM said that National Conference, Congress, and PDP have exposed “their real intentions” by issuing threats of separating from the country if the two Constitutional guarantees are abrogated. “You have seen in the last few days how the National Conference, Congress, and PDP have exposed their real intentions. The thing they had been working for years clandestinely has now come out in the open,” the PM said.

Reacting to this Mufti Tweeted: “Why does PM bash political families pre-elections & then sends his envoys to stitch alliances with the very same parties? NC in 99 & PDP in 2015. Why do they choose power over Article 370 then? BJP with its noxious agenda of banishing Muslims & minorities wants to divide India (sic)."

PM Modi also asserted that he is committed to settling displaced Kashmir Pandits in their native places. "I am committed to settle displaced Kashmir Pandits in their native places in Kashmir and work has started in this direction," he said.

PM Modi also hit out at the Congress for saying that it will remove the army from Jammu and Kashmir and dilute AFSPA.

"It is saying that they will talk to the people who are taking money from Pakistan and influencing the youth of Kashmir...Congress is trying to demoralise our security forces."

PM Modi in Kathua is canvassing for Union Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh, who is seeking re-election from Udhampur Lok Sabha seat where polling will be held in the second phase on April 18. Jitendra Singh is in direct contest with Congress’ Vikramaditya Singh, the grandson of last ruler of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir Maharaja Hari Singh and the son of Congress leader Karan Singh, in the seat.
