New Delhi:

BSP president Mayawati on Sunday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to keep his promises made to the people of Uttar Pradesh during 2014 Lok Sabha elections and said people of the state helped him become the prime minister and are now ready to throw him out.

"Narendra Modi is moving about saying that the 22 crore people of UP made him the prime minister but the people are asking him as to why he betrayed them," Mayawati said in a series of tweets. “Preparation for the same has begun,” she added.

Taking a dig at PM Modi over his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programmed on All India Radio, Mayawati said the BSP-SP-RLD combine chose to hear the 'mann ki baat' of 22 crore people in the state to enter into an alliance.

"PM Modi listened to his Mann Ki Baat and did what he wanted. He selfishly declared his own caste as backward. But the BSP, SP, and RLD listened to people's Mann Ki Baat and respecting it formed an alliance in the interest of the country. While the people are excited about this alliance, the BJP is clearly frustrated," the former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said in another tweet.

Mayawati alleged that the prime minister had got his caste included in the Backward Class category for political and electoral gains.

The BJP's frustration and fear of losing power are very evident and can be seen by all countrymen, she added.
