With 2019 Lok Sabha Elections knocking on the doors, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its poll campaigns across India. After addressing a public gathering in Bihar's capital city Patna, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now reached Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, the parliamentary constituency of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, to launch a Kalashnikov rifles manufacturing facility. During his visit, Modi has unveiled several other development projects for Amethi and the region. At Kauhar in Amethi, the PM has dedicated the Indo-Russia Rifles Pvt Limited to the nation. The Indo-Russia Rifles Pvt Ltd is a joint venture between India's Ordnance factory and a Russian firm. It will produce the last series of Kalashnikov rifles in the Korwa Ordnance Factory.
Besides, Modi inaugurated and laid foundation stone for several other welfare projects in power generation, education, health and manufacturing sectors. These projects will directly benefit the Amethi region. Modi also addressed a public gathering at Kauhar while giving the list of achievements of the BJP-led NDA government in the last five years. Other prominent figures who took part in the rally include Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union minister Smriti Irani, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath among others.
