PM Modi to visit Kedarnath, Badrinath ahead of Lok Sabha Elections results

After becoming the Prime Minister in 2014, Modi has visited Kedarnath several times.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to pay obeisance at the Himalayan shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2019 results. According to reports, the prime minister's two-day visit will begin on May 18.

PM Modi might visit Kedarnath, a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, on May 18 and offer prayers at Badrinath, a temple dedicated to Vishnu, the following day on May 19, Uttarakhand BJP media in-charge Devendra Bhasin said.

The Prime Minister has a deep sense of attachment towards Uttarakhand. The purpose of this visit is purely spiritual, he said.

After becoming the Prime Minister in 2014, Modi has visited Kedarnath several times. He is also taking a keen interest in the Kedarnath reconstruction works and often talk to state top government officials in this regard.

"This is just a tentative programme," state BJP President Ajay Bhatt said.
