Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Friday mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for holding a press conference just 4-5 days before the Lok Sabha Elections ends. During the press conference, the Congress president alleged that the Election Commission is biased towards PM Modi and the poll schedule was made to suit his campaigns.

BJP chief Amit Shah and Modi held a press conference at the party headquarters at the same time when Gandhi addressed the media at the Congress head office.

"Why did the prime minister not accept my challenge for a debate on the Rafale issue," asked Gandhi.

Gandhi also said that the Election Commission's role in these polls has been "biased" and it has issued orders keeping in mind Modi's schedule.

Talking about the BSP-SP-RLD grand alliance in Uttar Pradesh, Gandhi said that he made it clear to party general secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra that party's priority is to make sure that BJP losses.

"I respect the fact that BSP-SP decided to fight the elections together in UP. From the Congress party perspective, I have to push the Congress ideology in UP. I made it very clear to Jyotiraditya and Priyanka that priority number one is to make sure BJP losses," he said

"Priority number two is to push Congress ideology, priority number three is to win the Vidhan Sabha election. But ideological they are on the same page like us, I don't see Mayawati Ji, Mulayam Singh Ji, Mamata Ji, Chandrababu Ji supporting Narendra Modi government," he added.

Earlier in the day, he also spoke about the promises kept by Congress governments in different states and asserted that his party's ambitious Nyay Yojana would jumpstart the economy when implemented.

"We told you we would bring MGNREGA and we did. We told you we would waive off farm loans, and we have. You can go and see for yourself in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh," Gandhi said while addressing a rally in Solan, the town known for mushroom and tomato cultivation.

"We waived the loans of Shivraj Singh Chouhan's nephew and brother. We have all the documents to prove it. But he (Chouhan) is lying to the people in Madhya Pradesh that farm loans were not waived off," said Gandhi.
