The bonhomie between Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party was on display today when former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav touched feet of BSP chief Mayawati during a joint rally at her parliamentary constituency Kannauj.
MP Dimple Yadav, who is contesting again from the constituency Kannauj, sought the BSP chief’s blessings at the stage.

News agency ANI tweeted a video in which the Kannauj MP can be seen touching Mayawati's feet.
Later during the speech, Mayawati took a break from her routine political speech and described Dimple as an "able, mature and an extremely sorted person".
Mayawati asked people to give her the respect of a daughter-in-law.
"After the alliance, I now whole-heartedly accept her as a daughter-in-law, a member of my own family. This is because Akhilesh Yadav gives me the respect due to an elder in the family. I, too, have developed a special relationship with his wife and I am confident it will continue in the future," Mayawati was quoted as saying by IANS.
Dimple Yadav will again face BJP's Subrat Pathak, whom she had defeated in 2014.
