West Bengal Congress expels leader Rezaul Karim from party for this reason

The party has expelled him from the post of the chairperson of medical/doctors' cell with immediate effect.

West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC) has expelled leader Dr Rezaul Karim from the party after his named appeared in the list of candidates for 25 seats in the state for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The party has expelled him from the post of the chairperson of medical/doctors' cell with immediate effect.

"You are hereby notified that WBPCC has expelled you from the post of the chairperson of Medical/Doctor's Cell of West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee due to the breach of a disciplinary rule of the party from your end. It has been observed that in spite of being a member of Indian National Congress (in W.B.) and Chairperson of Medical/Doctors' Cell of WBPCC, you have been found in unlawful nexus with other political parties for reasons may best known to you," the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee said in letter issued to him.

 “It is also unfortunately evident that you have enlisted yourself in the candidate list (in regard to the ensuing Parliament Election 2019) of another political party without resigning from your existing post and party membership,” reads the letter, signed by WBPCC president Somendra Nath Mitra.

“WBPCC finds such act in your part is a matter to strictly condemn and exception to the party discipline. In accordance to the aforesaid you are restricted from the activities pertaining to the said cell of WBPCC,” it added.
