Who is better – Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi Vadra? From masses to political leaders, this question has been on people’s mind for longest time possible. Things got interesting this year when Priyanka formally joined the Congress ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. In an interview with news channel ABP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday revealed what exactly he thinks about top leadership of the Congress party. When asked about the brother, sister duo, the Prime Minister said that, “I don’t know them personally. I never got the chance to have any sort of discussion with them. Hence, I don’t have any right to judge them.” He also added that, “this is an internal matter of the Congress party. They can make anyone their leader.”
When asked about why he never addresses Rahul Gandhi directly or takes his name, PM Modi said that, “Why is media so pained if I take his name (Rahul Gandhi) or not? Secondly, I come from a very simple family. A tea-selling family. These people (Gandhi family) are ‘naamdars’. I can’t dare to take their names.”
On the Congress chief contesting from Kerala’s Wayanad, PM Modi said that, “anyone can contest from any part of the country. This is not my concern. The nation’s Constitution has given them this right. But it was media that started the discussion on the way he (Gandhi) left Amethi.” He also added that nobody is question Gandhi on contesting from two seats. But why he had to abandon Amethi is a question that the BJP can raise had discussion from political point of view.
