With the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 just around the corner, campaigning has picked up the pace. Leaders of all the political parties are enthusiastically promoting their parties by addressing rallies. But Uttar Pradesh BJP leader Vineet Agarwal Sharda has taken it to a new level while campaigning for his party in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
While addressing a rally, Sharda urged people to vote for Kamal (Lotus – BJP’s election symbol). While doing so he uttered word ‘kamal’ a multiple numbers of times, sending the crowd into a frenzy. A video of the incident has now gone viral on social media.
“Aapko sochna hoga ki Kamal chahiye ya kya chahiye, (You will have to think whether you want Lotus or something else) Sharda asked before repeating the word ‘Kamal’ multiple times.

The BJP has re-nominated sitting MP Rajendra Agarwal from Meerut constituency. In 2014, Agarwal had registered a thumping victory with a margin of over 2 lakh votes.
BSP-SP-RLD 'mahagathbandhan' has fielded BSP's Mohammad Shahid Akhlak. Akhlak had contested in 2014 was at the second position. The Congress announced  Harendra Agarwal as its candidates for this parliamentary seat.
Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will be held in seven phases. The first phase will be held on April 11, second on April 18, third on April 23 and fourth on April 29, fifth on May 6, sixth on May 12 and seventh phase on May 19.
Counting of votes for all seven phases would be done on May 23.
In 2014, the Lok Sabha elections were held across nine phases, beginning on April 7 and ending on May 9. The counting of votes took place on May 16.
