New Delhi:

Shankar’s 2.0 which is a sequel to highly successful 2010 film Robot, is set to surpass Baahubali as India’s most expensive movie ever.

2.0’s budget is expected to be above a whopping 400 crore which makes it the costliest film in Indian history till date. Baahubali series was made in lesser budget, that is, 300 crore.

Since Baahubali has redefined the VFX landscape in India and Indian audience is expecting much more and better visuals than Robot had to offer, 2.0 is being shot with the help of 3D cameras taking the viewer experience to the next level.

The Shankar film stars superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in lead roles. While Rajini’s star aura still stands, ddition of Akshay Kumar , is also part of a strategy to woo the Hindi film lovers.

Film trade analyst, Taran Adarsh shared an in-the-making video of 2.0 on his Twitter handle on Saturday evening where you can feel the grandeur of the sets already.

The first part of 2.0, Robot, was highly successful and moreover, with Baahubali and Shankar’s previous film I, North Indian and Bollywood markets have found a way to the theatres to watch southern cinema. This has further elevated the hopes for this movie.

2.0 is a science fiction film written and directed by S. Shankar, co-written by B. Jeyamohan, and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah. The film serves as a spiritual successor to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran and features Rajinikanth reprising the roles of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, alongside Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.
