After delivering superb performance in 'Kati Patang', 'Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki' and many more the veteran actress Asha Parekh lost somewhere while the time moved ahead.
The queen of 60s faded away in the limelight of Bollywood and sooner the scarcity of good roles forced the actress to retire from acting.
Although she has returned in the talks of tinselvile as she is awaiting for the release of her autobiography, "The Hit Girl", co-written by film critic Khalid Mohamed, she gets candid about her downfall in her acting career.
The actress says it is rare to get a second innings in showbiz and only Amitabh Bachchan has managed to do that.
To take a back seat after a fruitful career wasnt difficult for Parekh, who says its all about being aware that not everybody gets a second chance like Bachchan.

"It wasnt a difficult decision as such. You have to accept certain situations in life. I am ageing so I should take it gracefully. Mr Bachchan has got a second innings. He is lucky, blessed by God. People make films where he is the central character. We dont get these sort of opportunities. If I get something like that, I would definitely like to work," she says.
She feels happy about stepping back from her acting career as she accepts that the fate in Bollywood is not same for every one.
Talking about the times, back in those bygone era, how did the actresses deal with such showbiz around she replies, "At that time, we didnt have that much media exposure. Right now everyone's life is an open book. Ours was'nt like that. People were inquisitive to know more about us in those days. We had a very slow pace of life, we were not in a hurry. Today the girls have to go through so much stress. The media is there and then there are promotions."
